Noise in pipes I have a question that I was asked.
"Q. There is a loud banging noise whenever we use the hot water tap. Only happens in the bathroom and only with hand basin tap. What is it? How do I fix it." |

Re: Noise in pipes I've experienced this too. Fred tells me it's called "water hammer"
Suggestions would be welcome. |

Re: Noise in pipes I've had a talk to Fred, and did some searching.
One culprit is air in the water sysem. This often happens with a washer that need replacing. Check the plumbing and replace any faulty washers (including the toilet cistern) as a first step. |

Re: Noise in pipes yes its quite common this occurs in alot of water systems, and has a simple remody as youve said "replacing the washer".
