Am travelling to Aussie, England and Scotland to visit men's sheds in the next three months. contacts in the main centres welcome and I am happy to report back what i find.

We would like to have established men's sheds in the main centres and many have begun already. Wonder if contributors have heard about them yet and whether they are involved in any way.

You guys need to be applauded for the work that is being done for Men young and old, by those of your ilk.

Best of luck with your tour, I hope you find some really good info to bring back here.

I can think of nothing better than a shed to bring men together, it is more or less neutral ground.

My only mis-giving about the idea is that it may become a place for young guys to show up and say "Can you help me fix my broken car?", not that that would be a problem in itself, I would not like to see a thing like this be taken advantage of, in lieu of getting a mechanic to fix a car.

That is my only concern, it sounds like a great concept though, one of which I would love to be a part.

I have knowledge, I would like to pass that forward.

It is not just young men that come in and want the freebies! All ages -and women too!

Easy answer - Join the Shed and pay your dues and all the assistance that you will ever need is there for the asking,- all trades, all crafts the only limit is your own imagination.

And you *are* expected to help out with the community work on occasion!
